This is the board I used for a motor driver, using TIP120 drivers. A basic schematic is here

This is the stepper control board I created for running the driver board. It uses 3 EDE-1200 chips and 3 4Mhz ceramic resonators. They are available at All Electronics
It is all powered by an old ATX computer power supply
This is my Z axis which uses a stepper from an old 1.2M floppy drive
Here is my X axis which is a carriage and lead screw assembly from an old printer.
My Y axis is chain driven and the guides are integrated with the frame assembly. The guide roller assy is built with aluminum plate and sliding glass door rails
